I give it a C+. That being said it did give me something to do for many hours.. I bought this game years ago in the sales and I just didn't get it;It's got a steep learning curve, old gfx, a clunky ui and I just wasn't ready for it. I recently played PoE1 including all of its dlc. I loved that and it was in that playthrough that I realised what this game was all about. I did a little research on the game systems and the history of its development and how important it is in the history of CRPGs and now I'm in love with it.We're going to get married in the Autumn and you're invited.. At 8 hours, I'm still not sure that I've even scratched the surface of this game. Really enjoying it so far- it's a little more old-school than I usually play, but that's definitely not a negative point. I'm interested to see how my experience progresses.. A narrative masterpiece. Tickles your nostalgia gland just right with some welcome quality of life approvals - but if you didn't play this back in the day you're probably going to have a bad time. If you did, or need you some hot, sticky, D&D, go for it.. Dated, but at the time of release, one of the best RPGs (isometric) I ever played.Story and narrative is immersive. This is a classic.Worth it on sale.. i bought it to play with my bro and also for nostalgia feels. The EE has added some nice feature such as quick loot. Once you used to it, you wont loot enemy corpse individually again, especially when your party has become stronger and always wipe out enemy party or entire kobold village. You can casually loot mid fight too. Gotta collect the gold. I am at the beginning of the game, but i already feel that it's going to be something truly special.. Excellent update to a great game, would have been nice to see a bit more expanded content, filling in some blank areas on the map and adding a few new quests. The graphics and gameplay improvements are well needed, the only complaint is that the "paper" .wav should have been silent or have a toggle instead of needing to mod a sound file. All in all a great update for a timeless game, still one of my all time favorites.. I got this game when it first came out and was on 5 CDs. I never finished it though, I was too young to understand how to play it. Decades later I am finally giving it a new try and by god I am going to do my best to actually finish this game. The world is pretty and detailed. So many unique RPG mechanics that do not exist in modern day RPGs.. i LoVeD this game as a kid, its one of the best role playing experiences ive heard 2 is even better but i havent got around to playing it yet but will soon, this is a great game for a real D and D experience.
